Week 3 assignment

Find an online tutorial on SVG. Based on the tutorial, create something in SVG, save it off to your external hard drive and bring it into to class ready to dissect and discuss.

Today in class we began coverage of Illustrator CS 2. We worked chapter 1. We also covered the following terms and concepts:

• color management (gamut, calibration of devices, "spyder")
• tablets (Wacom)
• SVG
• plugins
• uses of Illustrator
• job sites and job descriptions
• high res high quality original art with output from the original at diff size and resolutions
• workflow
• file naming (OneWordMixedCase)

Word for the day is WYSIWYG. remember what it means (hint hint)

First Illustrator assignment

#1 - Browse through the internet, searching on whatever Illustrator tool or concept in which you are interested. Find a tutorial you like. Work through it, until you have it complete. Remember the URL to this tutorial. Be ready to discuss it in class next week. Be ready to walk the class through the tutorial. If I select you to explain your tutorial work, it will be worth 20 points. By the end of the semester each person will have led the class through at least two tutorial explanations.
